    Description

Our alpacas are a vital part of our organic farm, so this is an opportunity to learn more about care of earth as well as a way to be of service. Volunteers are needed to help clean alpaca fiber, "skirting."

Once a year our alpacas are sheared. All of their fiber needs to be sorted and, occasionally, dirt or hay needs to be removed from it. The fiber is sorted into firsts, seconds, and thirds depending on the length and quality.

Training is provided for this fun and contemplative activity!

The skirting circle will meet every Tuesday afternoon OR choose another day for a group project or solo volunteering.

Email or call with any questions or to get started!
