    Description

    King's Home Stables

Hey y'all! King's Stables is in the process of looking for some volunteers for our farm!

King's Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons to people in the community, and also serves the King's Home youth, who are individuals who have been taken out of the foster care system who have experienced abuse and neglect. Our lessons vary, but groups participate in therapeutic riding, while others play games or engage in groundwork-based activities with our horses.

    Volunteer duties would include:

    • Feeding horses
    • Cleaning stalls
    • Mucking around the property
    • Cleaning water troughs
    • Prepping feed
    • Turning horses in/out
    • Organizing various rooms as needed
    • Helping maintain the grounds as needed
    • Building maintenance as needed
    • Administrative help as needed
    • Assistance with events as needed

A little about King's Stables, is that we have 13 horses, 1 mini horse and 1 donkey. Our horses come from lots of different backgrounds, and love working with people! Each has special gifts and abilities that we utilize in our therapeutic sessions. They love their job, and King's Stables is incredibly grateful to have such incredible horses.

This volunteer opportunity could be great for a person studying counseling, mental health, animal science, or anyone interested in horses, or agriculture. This could also be a great opportunity for people in an honor's society, to complete any volunteer hours necessary. No horse experience necessary!
