    Description

    The Grant Writing Volunteer will play a vital role in helping Thrive expand its funding base and sustain our growing programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social justice, youth development, and community impact who wants to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development. The volunteer will support the Executive Director in identifying funding opportunities, drafting proposals, and maintaining a grant pipeline.

    Position Overview

    • Research and identify potential grants, corporate giving opportunities, and philanthropic partners aligned with Thrive’s mission.
    • Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding narratives with guidance from the Executive Director.
    • Maintain an up-to-date grant tracking spreadsheet (deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements).
    • Assist in gathering supporting materials such as budgets, data, and organizational documents.
    • Support post-award follow-up, including impact reporting and stewardship communications.
    • Attend monthly check-ins with the Executive Director.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Interest in social justice, youth empowerment, and community development.
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
    • Prior experience with grant writing, fundraising, or research (preferred but not required).
