Description
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Support Volunteer to help strengthen our financial management and ensure we continue building trust with donors, partners, and the communities we serve. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using their accounting skills to support a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities
- Support bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
- Assist with reconciling bank and credit card accounts
- Track donations, grants, and campaign expenses
- Help prepare simple financial reports and summaries for leadership and the board
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and IRS 501(c)(3) requirements
- Provide guidance on budgeting and cost-saving strategies
What We’re Looking For
- Background in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (students and professionals welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Xero, Excel, or other accounting software a plus
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting preferred, but not required
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Passion for community service and making an impact
