Description
AccentCare Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Baltimore needs compassionate people to make friendly visits to our patients living in their homes or nursing facilities the Greater Baltimore area and surrounding communities, including Baltimore City, Baltimore Co, and Howard Co. Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no medical or personal care involved! Visits are based on your schedule and close to your home or work. You receive extensive support, comprehensive training, and screenings at no cost.
Some of the ways YOU can make a difference...
- Providing companionship (from simple conversations to exploring deep feelings)
- Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together
- Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review)
- Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
- Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history)
- Watching movies or playing games
- Simply being present
