Description
Join Assist ME, a local nonprofit that provides free mobility and medical equipment—like wheelchairs, walkers, and shower chairs—to low-income, uninsured patients in our community. Every piece of equipment we give out has been donated and needs to be cleaned before it’s ready for its next user. That’s where you come in!
Volunteer Duties:
- Spray and wipe down gently used equipment with safe cleaners (like Simple Green).
- Optional: help record items in our simple inventory system.
- Co-supervisors help coordinate volunteers and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Details:
- When: Once a week (2-hour session); you can also do it every other week or once a month
- Where: Atrium Myers Park Clinic, Charlotte, NC
- Who: 4–8 volunteers per session
- Provided: All cleaning supplies, gloves, and materials
No special skills required—just a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help others regain mobility and independence. Every wheelchair or shower chair you clean goes directly to someone who needs it to live more fully.
