    Mile High 360 Programming Support

Mile High 360 is an after-school college access program serving underserved students in Denver Public Schools. Since 2008, we’ve supported students from sixth grade through age 24, providing over 425 hours of programming each year focused on academics, health & wellness, and life skills. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an equal opportunity employer.

    Join Our Community!

At Mile High 360, Health & Wellness and Academics is about more than just exercise or homework! It’s about helping students discover forms of movement they enjoy, building meaningful relationships with responsible, caring adults, and supporting their academic growth through tutoring and academic projects.

    Volunteers Opportunities

Our school-year programming runs Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM to 6:45 PM. Volunteers are encouraged but not required to attend the entire session. From 4:30 PM to 5:20 PM, students participate in Health & Wellness activities, followed by academic time from 5:25 PM to 6:45 PM. During the summer, programming runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

    Health & Wellness

    • Sports, exercise activities, mindfulness practise and short bike rides
    • Cooking and nutrition classes, gardening projects, or arts & crafts.
    • Health & wellness and life skills lessons
    • Outdoor adventures or experiential activities such as hiking, fishing, or rock climbing(especially during the summer)
    • Providing “parallel play” support, simply being present and engaged with students
    • Celebrating student achievements at events and community gatherings

    Academic Support & Life Skills

    • Providing one-on-one tutoring at our space or at the students home.
    • Helping with homework completion
    • Arts & Craft
    • Gardening
    • Music
    • Supporting reading comprehension and writing skills
    • Assisting with problem-solving
    • Encouraging organization, study skills, and time management
    • Offering accountability and positive reinforcement

As a volunteer, your role is just as much about building relationships as it is about the activity itself. We’re looking for dependable, caring adults who enjoy working with middle and high school students, are flexible, and show up consistently. Your presence helps students find movements they enjoy and experience the support of responsible adults in our community.
