How much do you love your companion pet? Have you ever wondered if you lost your job and and/or had a medical crisis and you had to choose between feeding yourself and feeding your companion pets what you would do? The results may surprise you that more than 50% of Americans would feed their animals before feeding themselves. And/or a worst case, families feel that since their pets are such great animals, they make the difficult choice to surrender but come to realize that 1.3 million companion pets that enter the municipal shelters are euthanized because finding the perfect forever home is just not possible.
This is where I tell people the rubber meets the road in our world. Animal House Project dba Chester County Pet Food Pantry can help by educating and providing the necessary pet food and pet care services to those families that need our services. There is an answer to this widespread epidemic and that is a Pet Food Pantry. The ASPCA and HSUS have done studies showing the medical benefits of owning a companion pet: reduction in obesity; less mental health issues; decrease in heart attacks and strokes. Let's join together as a Team to help Keep Companion Pets at Home!!
Animal House Project is a 501 c3 Organization. We are growing and we need help behind the scenes to keep the Pantry and our overall organization moving forward. The volunteer position(s) includes helping out with picking up donations from various locations; inventory control and getting the pantry ready for our Pottstown Pantry; distribution of the food to the clients; and administrative paperwork.
Food distribution from this location is the 1st Saturday of every month from 11am to 1pm EST weather dependent. We cannot continue to help the families that we do without the help of Volunteers. They are the fabric to which we operate.
