Battlefield Docent

Help us welcome and orient visitors to Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site! As we near the 250th anniversaries for both our nation and the Battle of Bennington, our site is anticipating an increase in visitation and programming. We are looking for anyone with a passion for history to come spend time this summer with us as a Battlefield Docent here at the site. Battlefield Docents play a key role in educating & directing visitors, and answering questions about the battle. Stationed on the hilltop, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to engage with the community and educate the public about history, all while enjoying some fresh air.

Requirements:

• Weekly availability, hours flexible
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions (table, chair, and sun cover provided. Access to flush toilets, but no portable water available.)
• Ability to work independently
• Training required (we will provide all necessary training and battle information needed to interact with visitors.)
