Saturday, July 11: 9am - 6pm | Sunday, July 12: 10am - 5pm
Multiple shifts, each ~3.5 hours long
Volunteers needed: 200+

One of the Midwest’s most popular and highly regarded outdoor celebrations of the arts will return to the Capitol Square on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2026, as MMoCA presents the 68th annual Art Fair on the Square.
With its mix of entertainment and outdoor dining, as well as over 400 artists exhibiting paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, handmade clothing and accessories, and fine craft, the fair draws nearly 200,000 visitors to Madison’s Capitol Square.
To provide an amazing experience to the public, MMoCA relies on volunteers to assist with every aspect of the event – from greeting guests to selling beverages. Volunteering at Art Fair on the Square allows volunteers to meet new people, learn new skills, and connect with the arts on a deeper level.

Art Fair on the Square takes place on the Capitol Square. Volunteer check-in will be near the top of State Street- a map will be available once you sign up.
How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
The link directs you to our Better Impact page where you can apply to volunteer. Once you apply, you will automatically be able to sign up for shifts. Some shifts require approval, and if you are interested in one of those shifts please message us and we'll get back to you quickly. All shifts are fairly easy to learn, so no training is necessary but will be available.
