Description
Help Believe in Me lead integrated fundraising, donor engagement, sponsorship, grants, planned giving, communications, and marketing for programs serving underserved youth and young people.
The volunteer Vice President of Development & Marketing will build approved strategy, systems, team capacity, and accountability across Believe in Me, scholarships, community partnerships, iLevelUP, Cougs 4 Kids, and Legacy Lounge.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an approved annual development and marketing plan with goals, audiences, budgets, channels, responsibilities, and measures
- Coordinate grants, individual giving, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, campaigns, events, partnerships, content, media, and digital outreach
- Lead and mentor volunteer team leads while respecting board, staff, program, gift-acceptance, and financial authority
- Maintain responsible donor journeys, stewardship, CRM, consent, privacy, brand, and source-verification practices
- Ensure youth stories, images, outcomes, claims, and data receive appropriate consent and review
- Produce factual forecasts, dashboards, risks, and recommendations
- Prevent duplicate outreach and align program-specific contacts, websites, social channels, and UTM governance
- Avoid promises of tax outcomes, program eligibility, recognition, benefits, or restricted use without authorization
- Escalate conflicts, complaints, privacy incidents, financial concerns, misleading claims, or professional-advice issues
Qualifications:
- Senior experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, communications, partnerships, advancement, or growth leadership
- Strong strategy, team leadership, donor relations, grants, campaigns, analytics, budgeting, and brand stewardship
- Understanding of gift acceptance, privacy, consent, planned-giving boundaries, and youth-centered communications
- At least 30 years old and willing to complete background, reference, and conflict checks
- Ability to commit to cross-program leadership for at least twelve months
This is a remote volunteer executive role available within the United States. Expect approximately 8–15 hours per month.
