    Description

    The Mentors

You know things now that you wish someone had told you earlier.

Not advice. Not a lecture. Just the honest version of what it was like to go through the thing you went through — and come out the other side with something useful to offer someone who is in the middle of it right now.

SoYouAmI™ is a global community platform built by Invicta Child Foundation. Mentors are the members who offer one-to-one honesty, time, and experience to newer and younger members who are navigating challenges the Mentor knows from the inside.

    Here is what Mentors do:

    • Get matched with one to three mentees based on shared experiences, backgrounds, or challenges
    • Check in with your mentee through the SoYouAmI™ messaging feature at least twice a week
    • Share your own experience honestly — the hard parts as much as the good parts
    • Encourage your mentee to post on the platform, attend events, and find their community
    • Be consistently there — the most important thing a mentor can offer is reliability
    • If a mentee ever discloses something serious — crisis, danger, severe distress — escalate immediately to the Safe Space team

This is peer mentoring. You are not a therapist. You are a person who has been there and is willing to say so.

You are right for this if you:

    • Are 21 or older with meaningful life experience you would have wanted someone to share with you earlier
    • Are emotionally mature enough to be present for someone else without it costing you your own stability
    • Can show up consistently — a mentee who gets dropped is worse off than one who never had a mentor

    When you join, you get:

    • A Mentor badge on your profile
    • Real one-to-one relationships that go deeper than the public feed
    • A reference letter from Invicta Child Foundation after 6 months
