    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, AAPI professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About the Role

    This role ensures that NAAAP NY continues to thrive as a volunteer-driven community by cultivating an engaging, supportive, and efficient volunteer experience. You will be reporting directly to the VP of Team Engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding (40%)

    • Develop recruitment strategies to attract volunteers across committees.
    • Lead onboarding sessions and orientation workshops.
    • Maintain up-to-date volunteer records and role assignments.

    Volunteer Engagement & Retention (25%)

    • Build community through appreciation events, recognition programs, and check-ins.
    • Collect feedback and improve volunteer satisfaction.

    Cross-Team Support (20%)

    • Collaborate with committees to understand their volunteer needs.
    • Match volunteers with projects based on skills and interests.

    Operational Systems & Documentation (15%)

    • Maintain volunteer management systems and workflows.
    • Provide monthly updates during leadership meetings.

    Qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Experience in talent management, HR, or community engagement is a plus.
    • Enjoys connecting with people and fostering community.
    • Reliable and proactive.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment.
    • Previous nonprofit or board experience is a plus.
    • Adept at working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is a plus.

    Time Commitment:

    • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 12 months, actively participating in the planning and execution of Engagement tasks.
