    Description

    Hospital ER Victim Advocate

The Hospital Victim Advocate volunteer role is a gratifying role! This role alleviates staff from going after hours, allowing more time in the office to meet with clients. Volunteers will learn about the dynamics of abuse, how to be an advocate, work on listening skills, and more!

Hospital Victim Advocates are vital to victims getting an exam after an assault. At the hospital, volunteer advocates provide support to the victim by demonstrating empathy, compassion, and strength. Provide information and referrals, community resources, and safety planning. Training is provided for this role.

This role is mainly stationary, much of the time is sitting. Volunteer will need to be able to get to Aspirus ER and Marshfield Medical Center Weston ER within a timely manner when called.

We ask for at least a one-year commitment, as the training for this role is extensive. Previous experience is not required, training will be provided. Must be 18 years old.
