Love being outside and want to help out shelter dogs? Become a dog walker at Tri-County Humane Society! Dog walkers help ensure our dogs get plenty of exercise and socialization. Dog walkers volunteer in all kinds of weather, including rain and snow (which our dogs love!). Volunteers must be able to handle big (40 + pounds), energetic dogs who sometimes need help with their manners. Dog walkers must use positive handling techniques.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Tri-County Humane Society!
To become a volunteer, please fill out our application here: https://tricountyhumanesociety.org/volunteer/ You can learn more about the variety of volunteer opportunities available. Once you've submitted your application, it usually takes 1-2 weeks to process.
All incoming volunteers are background checked and must be a minimum of 14 years old to volunteer independently. Junior volunteers between 10-13 may volunteer alongside a parent/guardian.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email invitation to one of our orientations. 2 orientations are hosted each month at the shelter.
