    Description

    Job Description:

    As the Volunteer Director of Grants at EKW Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding for our projects and initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to research, write, and submit grant proposals to various foundations, corporations, and government agencies. You will work closely with the executive team to identify funding opportunities aligned with our mission and strategic objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of grant prospects, deadlines, and requirements.
    • Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, goals, and programmatic activities.
    • Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to gather necessary information for grant proposals.
    • Ensure all grant proposals are submitted on time and in accordance with the funder's guidelines.
    • Cultivate relationships with potential funders and maintain regular communication to steward existing relationships.
    • Monitor and track the status of grant applications, providing regular updates to the executive team.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required by funders, ensuring compliance with grant agreements.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in grant writing, preferably in the non-profit sector.
    • Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and compelling proposals.
    • Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
    • Familiarity with grant management software and databases is a plus.
    • Passion for the mission and values of EKW Foundation.

    Time Commitment:

    This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment. We expect the Volunteer Director of Grants to dedicate approximately 10-15 hours per week to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above.
