    Description

    Support Immigrant Faith Communities

The Love Your Neighbor (LYN) Project

WelcomeNST, in partnership with Unite Boston, is launching the Love Your Neighbor (LYN) Project across Greater Boston.

We are urgently seeking neighbors willing to form small teams and stand alongside newcomer faith communities already living in our city.

Several newcomer congregations in Boston are currently seeking a Supporting Community — a group ready to offer friendship, practical support, and a steady presence during a time of uncertainty. Our goal is simple: ensure no family stands alone.

What Volunteers May Help With (90-day commitment)

NeSTs in Boston are currently helping with:

    • Building relationships with newcomer church leadership
    • Walking alongside families as they prepare calmly and lawfully for the future
    • Offering practical support such as food distribution or basic needs coordination
    • Providing friendship and community connection
    • Inviting other neighbors to strengthen the circle of support

This is not a one-time event — it is relationship-based support rooted in dignity and mutual respect.

    Support & Training

    You won’t do this alone.

    Every NeST receives:

    • Structured onboarding and training
    • Clear role guidance
    • Advice from WelcomeNST specialists
    • A Preparedness Playbook to help teams respond responsibly and lawfully

    Why This Matters Now

We currently maintain an active list of newcomer communities in Greater Boston in need of support — today!
