    Description

    Operations & Impact Intern

At The Light House, we believe every child entering foster care deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported—especially on their very first day. Our work is rooted in easing trauma, building emotional strength, and equipping youth with the tools they need to thrive.

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and compassionate intern who wants more than just experience—they want to make a meaningful impact.

    About the Role

This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes and front-line support role that helps bring our mission to life. As our Program & Administrative Intern, you will play a key part in keeping our operations organized while also supporting programs that directly impact children and teens in foster care.

No two days will look exactly the same—and that’s part of what makes this role so meaningful.

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide administrative support (data entry, scheduling, email communication, organizing documents)
    • Assist with coordination of programs, workshops, and events
    • Help prepare materials and resources for youth and families
    • Support volunteer coordination and communication
    • Assist with outreach efforts and community engagement
    • Jump in where needed to support day-to-day operations

    Who This Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

    • Is highly organized and enjoys administrative work
    • Is dependable and follows through on details
    • Is flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks
    • Has a heart for helping children and families, especially those impacted by foster care
    • Wants real, hands-on nonprofit experience and is not afraid to contribute where needed
    • Is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

    What You’ll Gain

    • Meaningful, real-world nonprofit experience
    • Direct involvement in programs that support foster youth
    • Mentorship and insight into building and growing a mission-driven organization
    • The opportunity to be part of something that is changing lives

    A Final Note

This is more than an internship. It’s an opportunity to be part of a mission that meets children in some of their hardest moments—and helps bring light, stability, and hope.

If you’re looking for a role where your work truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
