Volunteer Communications Manager: Help Tell Our Story

Are you a creative storyteller with a heart for community? Bless Philadelphia is looking for a Volunteer Communications Manager to be the voice of our organization.

We are a community hub and food pantry in Northeast Philadelphia dedicated to promoting peace, prosperity, and health in our neighborhood. We do amazing work—from weekly food distributions to large-scale events like our Baby Goods Exchange—but we need your help to reach the people who need us most.

The Role In just a few hours a week, you will help us professionalize our presence and grow our "village." You will be responsible for creating the visual and written content that keeps our donors, volunteers, and neighbors informed and engaged.

    What You Will Do:

    • Visual Design: Create engaging graphics for social media (Instagram/Facebook), email newsletters, and print flyers using tools like Canva.
    • Content Creation: Draft clear, compassionate messaging for our digital channels and promotional materials.
    • Channel Management: Oversee the scheduling and publishing of posts on our social media platforms and manage our email newsletter distribution.
    • Brand Stewardship: Ensure a consistent look, feel, and voice across all our communications.

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Graphic Design Skills: Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
    • Strong Writer: Ability to write clear, error-free, and engaging copy.
    • Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook management/best practices.
    • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and manage tasks with a low time commitment (approx. 2 hours/week).

    Why Volunteer With Us?

    • Real Impact: Your work directly connects hungry neighbors with food and helps families access essential resources.
    • Portfolio Building: A great opportunity to build a portfolio of published design and copy work for a non-profit.
    • Flexibility: This role is fully remote and fits easily around a full-time job or school schedule.
