West Tuality Habitat for Humanity believes affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and is a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our programs not only build homes, they build community.
The Forest Grove ReStore is not only a primary fundraising tool for West Tuality Habitat, it is also one of our primary avenues for interaction with the public. A pleasant, clean, welcoming ReStore not only helps us sell more, it also helps us have better interactions with our community.
You can sign up to volunteer one day, just once, or sign up to volunteer once or twice a week for several weeks, or volunteer one day a month - we can fit most any schedule, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please come for at least 3 hours on ANY day of your choosing (up to 8 hours a day). People in need of court-ordered or school required community service are welcomed.
Regular daily tasks volunteers can do at the ReStore, in addition to helping customers load purchases and unload donations:
You will wear a snazzy blue vest or apron that identifies you as a ReStore volunteer. During service, volunteers are representatives of Habitat for Humanity and our mission. In addition to complying with all laws, regulations and Habitat for Humanity policies, all volunteers are expected to follow Habitat’s Code of Conduct.
We are right on TriMet Line 57!
We already involve volunteers in most aspects of our house-building and home repairs - but we want the community involved and invested even more in what we do, and a way to do that is involving more volunteers in the ReStore. In addition, we want to keep as much of our finances as possible into those home-building and home repair activities, to support vulnerable families in Western Washington County, Oregon.
Please do NOT show up at the ReStore until you have filled out our full application and been scheduled!
