Description
The Chicago Expansion City Coordinator is a volunteer leadership role at Pickleball for PINK, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fighting breast cancer through community-driven pickleball tournaments. This is a real position with real responsibility. You will work directly with our founding team to lay the groundwork for Pickleball for PINK's expansion into Chicago — one of our first national markets launching in 2027.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential venues in the Chicago area capable of hosting a pickleball tournament
- Build relationships with local pickleball clubs, facilities, and community organizations
- Identify and pursue local sponsorship and partnership opportunities in the Chicago market
- Serve as the on-the-ground point of contact for all Chicago-related logistics and outreach
- Assist in promoting the Chicago event through local networks, social media, and community channels
- Communicate directly with co-founders on progress, challenges, and strategy
- Help build Pickleball for PINK's presence and reputation in the Chicago community ahead of the 2027 launch
Qualifications
- Current high school student based in or near Chicago, IL
- Highly self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative without heavy direction
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Genuine interest in nonprofit work, event planning, or community organizing
- Knowledge of the local pickleball or sports community is a plus but not required
Additional Details
- This is a fully remote, volunteer position with some potential local outreach involved
- Time commitment is flexible and can be worked around a school schedule
- You will carry the title of Chicago Expansion City Coordinator at a registered 501(c)(3) organization, which carries real weight on college applications and resumes
- You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit expansion, event logistics, and community outreach working directly alongside the founding team
