    Description

    Garden Volunteers

The AIR Community & Herbal Garden is an urban park–based garden rooted in culture, healing, and restoration. Our space features therapeutic herbs, healing flowers, and nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables grown to support community wellness, education, and connection to the land.

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help us prepare, restore, and beautify the garden as we get ready for planting and the growing season. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a first-time volunteer, your support makes a meaningful impact.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers may assist with a variety of hands-on tasks, including:

    • Garden bed preparation (soil turning, amending, mulching)
    • Repairing and building raised garden beds
    • General cleanup of the garden and surrounding areas
    • Clearing debris and preparing planting spaces
    • Beautifying the garden (pathways, borders, organization)
    • Supporting the creation of a welcoming, therapeutic environment

Tasks will be matched to ability and comfort level.

    Skills & Experience

    • No prior gardening experience required
    • Willingness to work outdoors and collaborate with others
    • Interest in community wellness, herbal medicine, food access, or environmental stewardship is a plus
    • Able to perform light to moderate physical activity (standing, bending, lifting)

Training and guidance will be provided on-site
