    Commitment Details:
    Bi-weekly/once a month for 1 hr. Day of the week and time is flexible. Preferred times are Wednesday afternoons, week day evenings, or weekend afternoons. Volunteer must commit to at least 3 months and keep a regular schedule.

    Description

    Program Summary: We are searching for a volunteer to facilitate a bi-weekly or monthly storytelling group for our residents. Golda Meir House residents have many amazing stories to share and find value in exchanging stories in a group setting. We are looking for a volunteer who has an interest in building connections with residents, listening to meaningful stories, and who feels confident facilitating discussions.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Prepare a specific theme or prompt prior to the session to guide the storytelling group.
    • Moderate a meaningful discussion on chosen topic, ensuring that residents take turns sharing.
    • Provide a welcoming environment for all who attend
    • Build relationships with residents who attend and encourage them to come back each week

    Impact Goal: This program will provide space for our residents to gather and build connections with fellow residents.

    Qualifications:

    • 16 years of age or older
    • Comfortable working with older adults
    • Experience leading discussions and managing group dynamics
    • Familiarity with storytelling programs such as The Moth by NPR or similar groups
    • A desire to build relationships and welcoming attitude
