    Description

    Looking for Girls on the Run Bay Area Coaches in EL CERRITO!

    Girls on the Run Bay Area is a nonprofit after-school program that builds confidence in girls in the 3rd-8th grades. Our program combines physical activity with intentionally designed lessons encouraging mental, social, and emotional development.

    We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers who are committed to empowering girls with valuable life lessons! We'll provide you with training, curriculum, supplies, and co-coaches- everything you'll need to coach a safe, successful season and help girls in your community activate their limitless potential!

    Coach Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a role model and mentor for the participating girls
    • Prepare & collaborate with other coaches to facilitate twice-weekly lessons
    • Attend both weekly practices
    • Communicate with parents/guardians of program participants as needed
    • Participate in the Girls on the Run 5K
    • Have fun motivating girls to become healthy and confident!

    Training & Onboarding – Start Now

    To coach this fall, all new volunteers must:

    • Complete 3 hours of self-paced online training
    • Attend one in-person training (~2 hours)
    • Complete a short list of onboarding requirements such as a fingerprint background check and TB test

    Time Commitment - Spring Season

    • Two 90-minute practices per week, plus light prep and occasional communication
    • Plan for about 4–6 total hours/week, including prep and local travel
    • Season runs September 14th - ~November 14th, ending with a celebratory 5K
