    Description

Spy Camp Training Assistant (Teens 15-18 yrs old)

Do you have the energy of a secret agent, the charisma of a master storyteller, and the confidence to lead young recruits through top‑secret missions across Washington, DC? Then the Museum’s Spy Camp Training Assistant (TA) program is calling your name.

As a TA, you’ll become part of the elite Spy Camp staff—working side‑by‑side with our Spy Camp Training Officers (aka counselors) to deliver the coolest day camp experience in the city. You’ll guide recruits ages 9–12 through thrilling indoor and outdoor missions, hands‑on activities, and unforgettable spy challenges that bring the world of espionage to life.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):

    • Engage a team of 8 young recruits as they take on workshops, mini‑lectures, and spy missions both inside the Museum and out on the streets of DC.
    • Prepare mission materials, assist with cleanup, and support counselors to keep camp running like a well‑oiled spy operation.
    • Help manage morning and afternoon carpool, including check‑in and check‑out of campers.
    • Earn 80 volunteer hours while gaining leadership experience, teamwork skills, and behind‑the‑scenes museum know‑how.

    What We're Looking For

    • High‑energy teens ages 15–18 with excellent communication skills—and maybe even a flair for the dramatic.
    • People who genuinely enjoy working with children and can keep them engaged, excited, and safe.
    • Responsible, self‑directed volunteers who arrive on time, stay focused, and bring their best every day.
    • Attendance at mandatory onsite training on July 9, 2026, 4:00–8:00 pm.
    • Availability for both weeks of camp:
      • July 13–17, 2026
      • July 20–24, 2026
      • Daily from 8:00 am–4:00 pm

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis, and final decisions will be made by May 1, 2026.
