    Description

    Kitchen Support Volunteer - Help Feed Kids & Families!

    Breakfast and Lunch Shifts Available

    The Kitchen Support Volunteer plays an important role in helping ensure our youth and families have access to nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment. This hands-on position assists our Cook with preparation of hot meals, service, and clean-up during breakfast and/or lunch shifts during our spring break camp.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with basic meal preparation under the direction of the Cook
    • Help serve breakfast and/or lunch to youth
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
    • Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and support kitchen organization
    • Assist with food item pick-up as needed
    • Help assemble grocery/food distribution bags for families

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
    • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
    • Able to lift light to moderate loads (food boxes, grocery bags, etc.)
    • Valid Food Handler’s Card (suggested)

    Impact:

    By supporting our kitchen operations, volunteers help ensure kids receive healthy meals and families have access to essential food resources — removing barriers so youth can focus on learning, growing, and thriving.

    Instructions:

    Adults 18 and older looking to fulfill a court-appointed community service requirement are not eligible to complete their hours volunteering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside.

    All volunteers are background checked annually, and if you have previously been convicted of any violent crimes, offenses related to drugs, or crimes against a child, you are not eligible to volunteer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside.

    To apply to be a volunteer at the Boys & Girls Clubs you must:

    • Must be 18 or older
    • Complete the Volunteer Application Form
    • Complete Voluntary Disclosure Form
    • Must complete fingerprinting
