    Description

The Bagful of Books Sale is one of the Hopewell-Prince George Friends of Library's biggest fundraisers where patrons can fill a standard grocery bag or reusable tote with books for a low, flat price of $2 per bag. A wide variety of genres are available, including fiction, nonfiction, children’s, and young adult titles.

Volunteers play a critical role in preparing for the Bagful of Books Sale by helping set up the event space into an organized, welcoming shopping environment for the community.

Primary duties include unloading and lifting boxes of donated books, which may require moderate to heavy lifting. Volunteers will sort books by genre—such as fiction, mystery, biography, children’s, and young adult—to ensure shoppers can easily browse the selection. This process helps create a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees.

Volunteers will also assist with arranging tables and displays, organizing books in a neat and accessible manner, and ensuring clear pathways throughout the room.
