About the Role:
We’re building an innovative app that gamifies civic participation and rewards people for doing good in their community. From voting and volunteering to supporting local businesses, this app turns civic engagement into a game—with real-world benefits.
We’re looking for a volunteer App Developer to help us build and refine our MVP (currently in Adalo) and potentially migrate to a more scalable tech stack as we grow.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate on app features that track civic activity and offer rewards
- Optimize or extend our current low-code build (Adalo) or help re-platform
- Work directly with the founder to bring a fully mapped-out vision to life
- Recommend better tools, APIs, or integrations (e.g., geolocation, voting info)
- Help make an app that’s intuitive, beautiful, and empowering for everyday users
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient in Adalo, React Native, Flutter, or another mobile dev framework
- Comfortable with UI/UX and mobile app optimization
- Passionate about civic tech, social good, or startup culture
- Able to work independently with light check-ins (1x/week)
- Open to offering creative feedback and solutions
What You’ll Get:
- A strong reference, recommendation letter, or LinkedIn endorsement
- Featured as a founding contributor of a civic tech nonprofit
- Freedom to experiment, lead, and shape a project with real community impact
- Portfolio experience on a public-facing product with scale potential
- Full credit and recognition for your part in shaping the future of civic engagement
