Bird Rescue Front Desk Response Team

We're looking for Volunteers who can commit to regular on-site shifts at our front desk as part of our Response Team.

This is an opportunity to connect with people over the phone, offer real-time solutions to a variety of concerns, coordinate field rescues, problem-solve situations with fellow agencies across the five counties we serve, educate the public about best practices for resolving wildlife conflicts, and become an integral part of rescue and rehabilitation without working directly with birds.

Regular weekly shifts include:

• Answering calls knowledgably and compassionately
• Responding to texts promptly
• Managing data entry
• Keeping accurate records

We receive calls from all over the Bay Area, and sometimes across the country and around the world. Reaching someone knowledgeable, trained to evaluate the situation, and calmly provide directions can make all the difference in bringing about a successful rescue.

This position offers an opportunity to learn about Northern California's native wildlife and participate in rescues through a less physically demanding role that relies on empathy and communication.
