Volunteer for the Kalamazoo Vegan Chef Challenge!

Do you enjoy vegan food, mingling with your community, and the idea of helping expand plant-based options where you live?

Join the Vegan Outreach team as a Volunteer for the fourth Kalamazoo Vegan Chef Challenge and support a fun, month-long celebration of vegan cuisine in your area! The event launches on May 1st and is organized by a wonderful team of local residents who are also part of the Vegan Kalamazoo community.

📌First things first: What is the Vegan Chef Challenge (VCC)?

The VCC is an exciting event that brings restaurants and foodies together to dramatically increase vegan menu offerings in your city.

🤝 Volunteer Responsibilities:

As a VCC Volunteer, you’ll work with the local lead organizer to:

◼️Reach out to local restaurants to encourage their participation (via in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and DMs.)

◼️Spread the word through social media, flyers, and posters.

◼️Deliver marketing supplies to participating businesses right before launch.

◼️Support event coordination as needed during the month-long challenge and to organize the Awards Ceremony that will mark the end of the event.

This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity that directly contributes to increasing vegan options and awareness in your area. The organizing efforts will last from early February until mid-June, with some weeks being super quiet and other weeks a little busier. You're also welcome to only help with one task of your choice or during a single phase of the process!
