    Description

    Music Volunteer Mentor - Flexible Hours

    Volunteer in our Music Clubhouse! Become a part of our vibrant music and production space. As a volunteer, you'll support students eager to learn instrument skills, launch podcasts, delve into music engineering, produce beats, and much more! Volunteers play a crucial role in overseeing the space while providing guidance and mentorship to young members exploring their musical journey.

    Overview/Position Summary

    As a Music Clubhouse Volunteer, you will assist and teach youth at a variety of different skill levels (beginner through advanced) how to promote and express themselves through music. You will also provide them with opportunities to work on their musical skill(s) in both group and private settings. This can range from teaching a beginner basic guitar skills to working with a member to create a music video that aligns with a song he/she previously recorded.

    Responsibilities/Skills and experience relevant to this position:

    • Play music with youth or help them practice an instrument
    • Provide constructive input and feedback
    • Introduce newcomers to the world of music
    • Help build their self-esteem and motivation level
    • Instruct individual and/or group lessons with youth between the ages of 8 and 18.

    Other available tools:

    • Podcasting room
    • Audio software: Pro Tools, Logic, FL Studio, Ableton
    • Video: Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve
    • Graphics: Blender, Photoshop, Lightroom
    • DJing: Serato

    Flexible Scheduling: Volunteers can select their preferred days and times, with a minimum commitment of two hours per shift. Volunteers can choose between the following hours of availability:

    School Year: 2 PM - 8 PM

    Summer: 8 AM - 8 PM

    Choose from weekly, monthly or annual shifts based on your availability.
