    Description

Are you passionate about storytelling, accessibility, and giving a voice to communities that often go unheard? Do you have a knack for audio editing and love working with podcasts? We’d love to hear from you.

    About Us:

Accessible Community is an organization focused on breaking down barriers and promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities. Our communication team produces a bi-weekly podcast that highlights stories, interviews, and issues at the heart of accessibility.

    Role:

We’re looking for a Volunteer Audio Editor to join our team. Your main job will be to edit podcast episodes released every two weeks. You’ll work closely with our producers and hosts to ensure conversations are clear, engaging, and accessible for all listeners.

    Responsibilities:

    • Edit and polish bi-weekly podcast episodes (removing background noise, leveling audio, inserting music/transitions, etc.)
    • Collaborate with the communications team to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
    • Work with accessibility in mind, ensuring audio is clear and understandable
    • Suggest creative ideas to help us improve the show’s sound and impact

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Experience with audio editing tools (like Audacity, Adobe Audition, Garageband, or similar)
    • Strong attention to detail and a good ear for high-quality audio
    • Reliable internet access and ability to meet remote teams virtually
    • Interest in accessibility and amplifying underrepresented voices
    • Commitment to volunteering approximately 3–5 hours every two weeks
    • Prior podcast editing experience is a plus, but not required

    Why Volunteer With Us?

This is a chance to build your portfolio, connect with a passionate community, and help create more accessible communications. If you believe everyone deserves to have their stories heard — and you want to help make that happen — we want to meet you.

Accessible Community is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. People with disabilities and individuals from all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
