Help a needy girl say “yes” to her dream dress—and to one of life’s most meaningful milestones.

Becca’s Closet is a nonprofit organization that provides free formal dresses to high school girls with financial need who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend prom, homecoming, or military balls. We also serve students through partnerships with special-needs programs and organizations like Best Buddies.

What You’ll Do

• Be a Personal Shopper
• Work one-on-one with a student to help her find the perfect dress. Your encouragement and kindness make all the difference.
• Sort, organize, and prepare dresses so they’re ready for each girl’s special moment.

Why It Matters

For many girls, this is the first dress they’ve ever owned.

You’ll witness the moment confidence replaces uncertainty—and it’s unforgettable.

You don’t need fashion experience. If you have patience, compassion, and a positive attitude, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

How It Works

We serve girls by appointment only, creating a calm, personalized experience for each student.

Each girl schedules a time to visit our boutique-style space, where she receives one-on-one attention from a team of volunteers to help her find the perfect dress.

This appointment model allows every girl to feel comfortable, supported, and truly special.

When We Need Volunteers:

Our Seasons:

• • Prom: February – mid-May
  • Homecoming: August – October

Volunteer Shifts:

• Typically weekends (10:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Choose a full shift or just a few hours—flexible to your schedule.
• Help with dress sorting, inventory, and organization.

Perks for Students

• Earn community service hours (check with your school for approval)
• Eligible for double service hours for hard work and initiative
• Opportunity to apply for the Becca’s Closet Involvement Scholarship

How Our Volunteer Emails Work

All of our volunteer opportunities are coordinated through email/text to keep things simple and flexible.

• We send weekly emails/texts during peak seasons (Prom and Homecoming) with specific volunteer dates and shift details.
• Each email includes a simple way to sign up for the date(s) that work for you.
• You can choose to volunteer for a full shift or just a few hours—whatever fits your schedule.
• We also send occasional emails throughout the year for new dress sorting and organization days.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive any important details you need before your shift.
