Volunteer Fundraising & Development Lead

Hope Across Borders is a small, grassroots nonprofit based in Utah providing humanitarian aid to families and children affected by the war in Ukraine.

Over the past several years, we’ve grown almost entirely through the support of friends, family, and a small group of donors. That support has allowed us to do a lot but we’ve reached the point where we need help growing beyond our existing circle.

We are looking for a volunteer with fundraising or nonprofit development experience who can help us build a stronger, more sustainable donor base.

This is not a role where we expect someone to come in with a huge list of wealthy contacts. We’re looking for someone who understands fundraising and can help us figure out what we should be doing, build systems that work for a small organization, and help us reach new donors.

What we need help with:

• Developing a realistic fundraising strategy for a small nonprofit

• Finding and reaching new potential donors outside our current network

• Building a recurring donor program

• Identifying opportunities for individual and major gifts

• Creating donor outreach and follow-up strategies

• Helping us improve donor communication and stewardship

• Identifying fundraising opportunities we may be missing

• Helping our Executive Director learn and implement effective fundraising practices

Hope Across Borders is intentionally small and hands-on. We work directly with trusted partners in Ukraine to find families and children who are falling through the gaps and provide practical help where it is needed most.

This is a volunteer position, and we understand that anyone volunteering their expertise has limited time. We are open to working with the right person to create a commitment that is realistic and sustainable.
