Volunteer Opportunity: Companion Visitor for an Engaging Participant in Seattle, WA

Location: Assisted Living Facility in Queen Anne, Seattle, WA

Schedule: Flexible – weekday or weekend visits

About the Participant

We are seeking a compassionate volunteer to visit an elderly participant who has Alzheimer’s and may not remember scheduled visits. The participant is alert and oriented to self but may take a few visits to warm up. They enjoy discussing intellectual topics and current events and like watching sports.

Volunteer Role

As a Companion Visitor, you will:

• Provide friendly conversation and social engagement.
• Assist with small organizational tasks (help locating items, tidying up).
• Share interests in teaching, current events, and sports.

Ideal Volunteer

• Patient, compassionate, and reliable.
• Comfortable engaging in conversation and offering gentle support.
• Interested in intellectual topics and/or sports.
