Description
SouthernCare Hospice of Mobile is in need of Volunteers.
An integral component of our care is having empathetic volunteers. Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team and make an important difference for patients and their families during a critical time in their lives. Volunteer days and times are flexible. Sharing some of your time and your heart with those in need is truly a blessing!
How our volunteers can help:
- Providing companionship (reading, reminiscing, playing cards, doing crafts, emotional or spiritual support)
- Helping to write letters or cards
- Providing caregiver respite/relief
- Providing pet therapy (must have pet therapy certification from an approved program)
- Performing light housekeeping or yardwork
- Preparing meals and snacks
- Running errands for patient or caregiver
- Supporting patients and families in the patient's last hours
- Making tuck-in phone calls to patients or their family to make sure they have supplies, medication and support they may need
- Assisting with administrative or clerical tasks in the office
- Working on special projects such as making quilts, blankets, fidget aprons, birthday cakes or cards, and more
We would love to hear from you!
