Volunteer Board Member - Marketing & Fundraising Expertise - Social Welfare Nonprofit

Angry Alligator Activists is a NEW nonprofit looking for a board member with experience in marketing and fundraising. We are located in Maryland, and we just opened our doors this year 2026. We hope to find a good team of volunteers to get this going. We need help to start tackling some of the economic inequalities plaguing our comminities today!

The roles Responsibilities will require:

• Growth of the donor base!
• Board meetings
• Strategic growth
• Active leadership
• Enhancing the organizations public image

Some of the Qualifications for this role include:

• Past experience with marketing
• Past experience with fundraising
• Past experience with nonprofit or humanitarian work.
• Experience in governance, strategic direction, & fiduciary oversight

Location:

• Hybrid online (We are located in Maryland and plan to currently operate in the DMV). We are open to expansion at a later date. It would help if the volunteer lived in the DMV area.

The reason we are looking for these skillsets is this is not a listing for a typical volunteer role. This role will have much more responsibility withing the organization. It will require at the bare minimum quarterly board meeting attendance. We are looking for true leaders in the community! The more organized we are the more people that we will be able to help.

Lastly, this is a volunteer position. Meaning there will not be any salary at this time for any members of the organization. Not to say that one day if we grow that this could not become a possibility at a later date. We are a new 501(c)(4) organization. We are very ambitious to bite back and to help the community in any way that we can. What makes this role unique is that it allows the opportunity to become the part of the startup phase of a nonprofit! It allows for your thoughts to have a lot of input into how and where our time and energy will be spent. This role will not require a lot of immediate work. Since we are new and will be waiting on more exemptions and required licensing to be in full swing operation.
