Description
The WHV program includes the Veteran-to-Veteran program that focuses on matching veteran volunteers with veteran hospice patients.
- Veteran volunteers make visits to veteran patients and facilitate conversations with them (e.g., reminiscing).
- Veteran volunteers may participate in pinning ceremonies, acts of appreciation and recognition. (National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization, 2022)
