    Description

Join us to help students in Vietnam practice and improve their English!

    YOUR STUDENTS

2,000+ high school scholarship students from the poorest areas of the Central and Mekong Delta provinces of Vietnam.

Volunteer tutors will engage students in conversations in English and assist the students with their pronunciation, grammar, listening, and speaking skills. Each session (1-4 students) will be about 40-50 minutes and will be conducted over Zoom. A Pacific Links Foundation team member will be present to facilitate the session. You do not need to speak Vietnamese.

    1. Choose your own schedule: Students are available 7am-10pm Vietnam time (5pm-8am Pacific time PDT) on the weekend. On weekdays, they would be available 5pm-10pm. You can change this schedule any time.
    2. Choose students with the level of English that you want to engage with: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. You can change this selection any time.
    3. Number of students for each time slot.

    Qualifications:

    • Internet access with decent speed.
    • Device that connects to Zoom, preferably a laptop with keyboard and camera.
    • Commitment of at least three (03) months and for at least 4 hours/month.
    • 15+ years or older. If you are under 18, you must obtain consent of your parent/guardian.

Benefits for volunteers and interns include, but are not limited to:

    • Opportunity to help Pacific Links Foundation grow, by assuming responsibility for important assignments
    • Exposure to non-profit social work here and abroad in Vietnam
    • Professional recommendations and/or references upon successful completion
    • Networking with the Pacific Links Foundation community

    Note

Your schedule may occasionally need to align with the students' availability outside standard working hours, which can be discussed and coordinated with your supervisor.
