    Description

WSUA is seeking a local Event Organizer based in Seattle, Tacoma, or Kitsap County to lead small community events, pop‑ups, and awareness activities. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, community engagement, and building meaningful connections.

You will help bring WSUA’s mission into public spaces — from coffee-and-sweets tables to Ukrainian film nights, community gatherings, and local partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Plan and coordinate small community events in the Seattle–Tacoma–Kitsap region

    - Scout and secure venues (churches, libraries, markets, community centers)

    - Manage logistics: tables, signage, supplies, coffee/sweets, donation materials

    - Coordinate volunteers for setup, outreach, and event flow

    - Ensure events run smoothly and professionally

    - Track attendance, donations, and engagement for internal reporting

    - Maintain simple documentation for transparency and audit readiness

    - Collaborate with the Executive Director and Social Media Manager to align messaging and event timing

    Ideal Candidate

    - Lives in Seattle, Tacoma, or Kitsap County

    - Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing moving parts

    - Enjoys community interaction and representing a mission-driven organization

    - Able to lift and carry light event supplies (tables, boxes, signage)

    - Comfortable working independently with clear guidance

    - Passionate about humanitarian work or supporting Ukraine

    - Experience with events, community outreach, or volunteer coordination is helpful but not required

    Time Commitment

5–8 hours per week, depending on event frequency.

Most events occur on weekends or early evenings.

    This is a volunteer role.

    What You’ll Gain

    - Leadership experience in community engagement and nonprofit operations

    - Direct involvement in building WSUA’s local presence from the ground up

    - A meaningful way to support Ukrainian communities through hands-on action

    - A collaborative environment with clear structure, mentorship, and purpose
