Birthright depends on the generosity of donors to provide maternity and baby clothes and necessities. Monetary gifts are also valuable, to fill in periodic gaps in supplies of some items and to keep the doors open and the lights on. While printed and digital advertising is helpful in reaching out to new clients, volunteers, and donors, we have found that, even if an initial contact was made through such advertising, it is face-to-face interactions that are the most productive in cementing relationships - and commitments - for all three categories. Consequently, it is important for some of our volunteers (and members of our Board of Directors) to be willing to speak to individuals and groups about the Birthright vision and needs. Personal testimonies about the challenges and positive impacts Birthright makes to individuals - and to the community - are essential to ensure that the organization and its mission will continue into the future. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that the needs of pregnant women and mothers with young children will decrease in the years to come.
