    Description

    Hospice of the Central Coast: Volunteer Chaplain

    The Volunteer Chaplain is to provide spiritual care support and on-call coverage to meet the spiritual needs of patients, family and/or significant others. They will be supervised by the Bereavement Coordinator and Hospice Chaplains.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Respectfully visit assigned patients at their homes or care facilities at communicated times.
    • May preside over grief support groups or memorial services when requested.
    • Provide confidential, non-judgmental and compassionate spiritual care for all ages in a religiously and culturally diverse environment.
    • Document all visits on volunteer logs.
    • Communicate issues and concerns to Hospice Services and Volunteer Coordinator.
