    Description

Final salute...are you retired/active duty military? We're looking for Veteran 2 Veteran volunteers.

Find a purpose, develop new skills, share your time... You can make a difference!

AccentCare Hospice is looking for Veteran 2 Veteran Volunteers to visit patients throughout Middle TN in Davidson, Williamson, Cheatham, Dickson, and Hickman Counties.

As a Hospice Veteran 2 Veteran Volunteer, you have the honor of supporting our military patients in the final part of their journey. As a veteran you share a special connection with patients that only can be found through the mutual experiences and code of military members. You will have the opportunity to offer companionship to patients in their home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility while adhering to current health and safety guidelines.

Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to a patient's stories, presenting military certificates of appreciation, honoring a patients service through supportive presence, but most of all, supporting someone dealing with a terminal illness. If you have your military uniform and can wear it to present a certificate the impact is powerful, but a uniform is not required.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care such as changing a patient, feeding a patient, bathing, giving medications, etc.

No previous hospice experience is needed, AccentCare Hospice will provide training and support throughout your time as a volunteer. Our volunteers are part of our team that provides excellent care to those at the end of life. Your gift of compassionate presence is valued!
