    Description

    Nonprofit Grant Researcher

    Camp Good Mourning! is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Volunteer Grant Researcher to support our efforts in identifying funding opportunities. This role is essential in helping expand our capacity to serve Long Island children coping with the death of a parent or sibling.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
    • Compile and maintain a database of prospective funders, including deadlines, requirements, and areas of interest
    • Review grant guidelines to assess alignment with Camp Good Mourning!’s mission and programs
    • Track application deadlines and assist in organizing submission timelines
    • Provide summaries of grant opportunities and key requirements for the team
    • Assist with gathering supporting materials as needed (e.g., program descriptions, impact data)

    Qualifications

    • Strong research and organizational skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, or grant writing
    • Experience with research tools, spreadsheets, or databases is a plus
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently

    Preferred (but not required)

    • Background in nonprofit development, fundraising, or communications
    • Familiarity with grant research tools (e.g., Foundation Directory Online, GrantStation)
