    Florida Youth At Risk: Achieving Readiness (FYAR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth ages 12–25 through creative arts, mentorship, and workforce development. We provide safe, inspiring spaces for young people to dream, connect, and grow—helping them build skills, confidence, and opportunities for a brighter future.

    Role Overview

    FYAR is looking for a highly organized and proactive Board of Directors Coordinator Volunteer to support the smooth operation of our board activities. This role involves coordinating board meetings, managing communications, preparing materials, and ensuring that our board members have everything they need to lead effectively.

    If you thrive on organization, enjoy working behind the scenes to enable impactful governance, and want to support youth empowerment at the leadership level, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Schedule and coordinate board meetings, committee meetings, and special board events
    • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, materials, and minutes in a timely manner
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between board members and staff
    • Maintain board records, track action items, and follow up on board decisions
    • Support onboarding for new board members and coordinate board orientation sessions
    • Assist with board development activities and annual planning

    Ideal Candidate

    • Strong organizational and project management skills
    • Prior experience in board support, executive assistance, or nonprofit governance preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, and project management tools
    • Discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information
    • Deep commitment to supporting youth development and community impact
