Because Organization is a volunteer-led nonprofit committed to restoring hope and a sense of control for survivors of human trafficking through consistent, trauma-informed care. As we continue building a strong and sustainable foundation, we are seeking a dedicated Associate Officer to the Executive Director to help support and strengthen our day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

This is a remote volunteer opportunity (10-15 hours per month) ideal for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and motivated to contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization.

    About the Role

The Associate Officer will work closely with the Executive Director to provide both strategic and operational support. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with consistency and care. Some tasks will involve light research to support program development, partnerships, and resource-building efforts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Executive Director in managing priorities, projects, and communications
    • Conduct light research to support program development, partnerships, and resource mapping
    • Help track progress on organizational goals and initiatives
    • Assist with coordination across teams, including scheduling and follow-ups
    • Bring structure and organization to internal processes and documentation

Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For

    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
    • Clear, professional communication (written and verbal)
    • Research skills and ability to synthesize information clearly
    • Attention to detail and reliability
    • Comfort with basic digital tools (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, etc.)
    • A collaborative mindset and alignment with our mission and values

    Who This Is Great For

This role is especially well-suited for university students or early-career professionals interested in nonprofit leadership, social impact, program development, or operations. It’s a meaningful way to gain hands-on experience while contributing to a cause that directly supports survivors.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Direct mentorship and collaboration with the Executive Director
    • Real-world experience in nonprofit leadership and operations
    • Opportunities to contribute to program development and strategic initiatives
    • Skill-building in research, project coordination, and organizational systems
    • A chance to make a tangible impact in the lives of survivors

If you are looking for a purposeful way to use your skills, grow professionally, and be part of a compassionate, mission-driven team, we would love to connect with you.

Together, we are building something that brings consistency, care, and hope to those who need it most.
