    Description

Outcome School is a mission‑driven nonprofit empowering youth with tech, creativity, and leadership skills. Our Product Management track teaches students how to turn ideas into real products — understanding users, defining vision, collaborating with teams, and delivering meaningful outcomes. To expand this program, we’re seeking a passionate Product Management Volunteer to help design curriculum, create course materials, and mentor students as they build product MVPs and final portfolio‑ready projects.

    🎯 About the Role

As a Product Management volunteer, you will guide students through the full product lifecycle — from discovery to delivery. You’ll design beginner‑friendly curriculum, create slides and assignments, and mentor students as they build real MVPs and final products. You’ll help them understand users, define product vision, collaborate with development teams, and practice release management and product strategy.

This role is perfect for someone who loves product thinking, teaching, and empowering young innovators.

    🧩 What You’ll Do

    • Design and develop curriculum for our Introduction to Product Management course.
    • Create course materials, including slides, assignments, templates, and case studies.
    • Teach or support live sessions with walkthroughs, discussions, and hands‑on activities.
    • Mentor students as they build product MVPs (Week 6) and final products (Week 12).
    • Introduce students to core PM concepts, including:
    • user research & understanding student needs
    • defining product vision & strategy
    • stakeholder communication
    • writing user stories & acceptance criteria
    • collaborating with engineering & design teams
    • prioritization frameworks
    • release planning & iteration
    • Provide feedback on product ideas, scope, documentation, and presentations.
    • Support students during Demo Day, helping them present their product vision and roadmap.
    • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure curriculum quality and consistency.

    🧠 What You Bring

    • Experience in product management, product strategy, or product development.
    • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, engaging ways.
    • Familiarity with agile workflows, user stories, and product roadmapping.
    • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and empowering youth.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • (Bonus) Experience creating curriculum, slides, or product documentation.

🚀 Why Volunteer With Outcome School

    • Make a meaningful impact on youth exploring tech and product leadership.
    • Build teaching and leadership experience in a supportive environment.
    • Add curriculum design and product education to your professional portfolio.
    • Join a mission‑driven team that values innovation, clarity, and community.
    • Help students build real product artifacts they can showcase to future employers.
