Become a Friend of McKinney Falls Park

Texas Parks and Wildlife is seeking volunteer assistance at McKinney Falls in many areas.

• Help clean up the park! Friends are needed to assist on the first Sunday of every month from 9 to 11 AM. All ages are welcome (youth should have adult supervision). Volunteers will be given bags, gloves, and grabbers and asked to wear closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, and/or pants to protect them from insects and weather and bring water and sunscreen.
• Volunteers are needed to assist at the help desk at the McKinney Falls Visitor Center. This is a fun opportunity to interact with visitors and help them learn about McKinney Falls! The Smith Visitor Center is open Friday-Sunday; shifts are 9 am-12:30 pm and 12:00 pm-4:00 pm. During their shift, volunteers will open/close the visitor center, re-stock the restrooms, man the front desk, and answer any questions from visitors about the park. All volunteers will do a training shift with a current volunteer before signing up on their own. Once a volunteer has been trained they can sign up for any day(s) they like.
• Friends of McKinney Falls is a group of like-minded individuals who work together with Texas Parks and Wildlife to protect and conserve this natural space for future generations. Activities include: helping with educational programs, trash clean-up, fundraising, community outreach, hosting fun events, and more!
