    Description

The volunteer transportation program provides rides for low income seniors and clients with mild disabilities who don't have personal transportation.

Without transportation, grocery shopping and doctor appointments become major challenges. The transportation program helps older adults stay in their homes. It contributes to their ability to remain independent and retain their dignity. The ideal volunteer is retired and interested in helping others. You pick when and where you drive from the many opportunities available. Rides are usually to doctor appointments.

The clients can enter and exit your car on their own. Mileage is reimbursed. For people who enjoy driving or people who enjoy people, this is one area you can truly make a difference for someone.

This opportunity posted by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program- helping those over age 55 find a place to help. NOTE- You don't have to be 55 or over to volunteer for this.
