    Description

    About AfriGenetry Link

AfriGenetry Link is a global nonprofit building the world's first community-centered African genomic health ecosystem. We reconnect people of African descent to their identity, heritage, and health through DNA education across the United States, Africa, the Caribbean, and Brazil. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Dallas, Texas.

    About this role

This is the most important communications role at AfriGenetry Link right now. We have a powerful mission, a compelling story, and a growing global movement, but we need the right person to bring it to life consistently on social media. You will be the voice and visual engine of AGL's online presence.

    What you will do

    • Create and edit short-form video content and reels for Instagram and TikTok.
    • Design graphics and visual content using Canva or similar tools
    • Write compelling captions that tell AGL's story in a way that stops the scroll.
    • Schedule and post content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube using a scheduling tool
    • Manage YouTube thumbnails and video descriptions.
    • Engage with AGL's online community daily, respond to comments, like and comment on relevant posts from other accounts, and build genuine online relationships.
    • Track weekly analytics and share a brief report on what performed well, what did not, and why
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and CPO to align content with program milestones and organizational priorities.

    What we are looking for

    • Strong short-form storytelling skills — you know how to make someone stop scrolling in the first two seconds
    • Comfortable with Canva and CapCut or similar editing tools
    • Active on Instagram and TikTok and understands how each platform's algorithm works
    • Passionate about African heritage, health equity, diaspora reconnection, or community health
    • Reliable — posts go out on schedule every week without reminders.
    • Basic understanding of social media analytics

    What you will gain

    • Real-world experience building a global nonprofit's social media presence from the ground up
    • Portfolio of mission-driven content across multiple platforms
    • A reference letter from the Executive Director upon successful completion
    • Opportunity to grow into a paid role as AGL secures funding
    • Connection to a global network spanning Africa, the US, the Caribbean, and Brazil
